Well, some British history at last.
I'm sure I'm not alone in remembering the devastating agony at the murder of Mountbatten in Ireland?
This was way beyond the pale even of the Troubles, whichever side was supported.
Charles was not merely ill-advised in shaking the hands of an out-and-out murderer, who should never be allowed to masquerade as a civilised politician, but he's also insulting the memory of the man he admired so much.
Even diplomacy has its bounds, and here they've been crossed.

He will likely be obliged to do worse, even after he's king.

The reporting here has been poor. They keep referring to Lord Mountbatten as
Charles's uncle. Can't someone at least look them up in Wikipedia?
